Internal Audit: Report Writing Skills

This course is designed to enhance the credibility, accuracy and clarity of internal auditors’ reports. It considers how to structure documents and to comply with International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing.

  • What is the purpose of a “report” (reader, author, objective, topic, structure);
  • Recommendations from Institute of Internal Auditors and best practice in internal auditor’s report writing;
  • Interrelation between report structure and content;
  • Preparation for report writing, information collection;
  • Information structuring;
  • Report structuring;
  • Preparation of draft reports, language correcting;
  • Revision (self-revision), making changes and final report writing;
  • Final report updating;
  • Draft and final reports (following the results of a final meeting with representatives of an audited entity).
