From 1 January 2017 Kazakhstan tax residents are obliged to disclose information about properties (real estate, securities, participation shares) owned and registered outside Kazakhstan, along with information about funds available in bank accounts held outside Kazakhstan and other incomes received from worldwide sources, in Declaration on Individual Income Tax (Form 240.00, hereinafter the "Declaration").
Non-reporting of funds available in foreign bank accounts or properties owned by individuals located outside Kazakhstan is subject to an administrative fine in the amount of 250 MCI* for each non-disclosed item. Non-submission of the Declaration is automatically treated as non-reporting.
